With the same love for 150 years...

When Helvacı Hacı Abdullah migrated from Akşehir to Afyon, he probably did not even imagine that 159 years later, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren would still follow the path he paved. Now, 150 years later, his 4th generation grandchildren, who were raised with his teachings, are Akkent Şekerleme Gıda Ambalaj San. and Tic. Ltd. Ltd. continues production under the name.

Hacı Abdullah was one of the first to produce halva and molasses in Afyon. Known for his helpful and humble personality, Hacı Abdullah has never hesitated to pass on his knowledge to others. In this way, he helped and taught the trade to a young man who would later be known as Helvacı Hacı Mahmut. Years later, he married one of his grandchildren to Hacı Mahmut's daughter. Akkent Şekerleme continues its journey with the children and grandchildren born from this marriage.

Nihat Akkent learned halva and confectionery production with his grandfather Helvacı Hacı Mahmut. He founded a sole proprietorship company with his brother Mahmut Akkent in 1977; In 1996, he organized his enterprises as a limited company and established Akkent Şekerleme Gıda Ambalaj San. and Tic. Ltd. Ltd. It was registered with the Afyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the name.

In the early years of the company, production was limited to 150 kg per day. The first products produced were creamy Turkish delight, walnut Turkish delight, hazelnut Turkish delight and cream candy. Production was done in copper boilers. While sales were made only in Afyon until 1980, it became known outside the city as well and sent Turkish delight to Marmaris for the first time. The fact that the coastline was hot and that there was no tourism at that time as much as today caused Turkish delight not to be sold in the coastal cities. Nihat Akkent first met customers who could sell Turkish delight in Marmaris; then Fethiye, Antalya and its districts, Kuşadası etc. It also started to send Turkish delight to coastal cities. As of 2008, it has become a company that sells throughout the Aegean and Mediterranean coastlines and in various provinces of our country, especially Istanbul, Bursa, Trabzon and Batman.

The taste of Turkish Delight surrounds the world...

The promotion of Turkish delight not only through tourists coming to Turkey but also through exports is one of the reasons why Akkent Confectionery made its first export in 2002. He sent Turkish delight abroad to Dubai for the first time. It exported to America in 2004. In addition to ongoing exports to Dubai, sales are also made to Switzerland, Cyprus, Turkish Republics and Malaysia.

Due to the growing market and customer portfolio, a new production area was moved in 2005. In our new factory with a capacity of 4 tons per day, dozens of types of Turkish delight are produced in stainless boilers and sold in various packages or in bulk. The production is made of 100% granulated sugar and does not contain glucose. The pistachios used are high quality, fumigated pistachios purchased at high prices. All kinds of cookies added to Turkish delight are used in percentages higher than the official rates required for production. Turkish delights maintain their freshness in the best possible way throughout their shelf life.

As of 2004, Akkent Turkish Delights are available in many parts of the world...
